Women cricketers of Vadodara get motivated after watching Shabaash Mithu

Women cricketers from Vadodara came together to watch ‘Shabaash Mithu’ a film on Indian Legend Mithali Raj. Baroda Cricket Association organised a special show for them to watch the movie and get inspired.

Baroda is always on the cricket map and produced great players in the past as well as in present time. As far as women cricket is concerned Radha Yadav and Yastika Bhatia from Baroda is already in Indian Team and proved their mark. With an intention to inspire the present and future crop of players, BCA organised the special show of the recently released movie on the life of former Indian cricketer Mithali Raj.

Rumeli Dhar, bowling coach of BCA Senior Women Cricket team shared her experience about playing with Mithali Raj. She said, since 2000 i shared dressing room with Mithali and also played alongside with her from Railways. She left her legacy and remarkable achievement which inspire the young girls coming to the game. I watched this movie once and again came to watch along with the girls.

Tarannum Pathan senior player said, this movie inspires all who wants to make their career in this field. Our two players already played alongside her and get valuable lessons about the game.

Women’s cricket coordinator Rajkunwar Devi Gaekwad said, Mithali Raj is a legend and this movies talks about ups and downs, struggle in her cricket career. We brought every players from each group to watch the movie and get motivated. I also met Mithali Raj during my stint as manager of Indian Women’s cricket team and found her very cool headed captain. I wish her best of luck for the second innings of life.

Shabaash Mithu is based on the life of former Test and ODI captain of the India women’s national cricket team, Mithali Raj. It It presents her struggles and euphoric rise in the women cricket.
