A trader living in Sola area of Ahmedabad was allegedly beaten mercilessly by a friend who had been demanding money from him. The incident took place near Kargil petrol pump crossroads. A complaint was lodged in this regard at Sola police station on Monday.
As per case details, Chetan Thakkar, owner of a grocery shop named Chamunda kirana store, lives in Green Leaves apartment in Sola. On Saturday night, he was at his home when he got a call from his friend Amit Rabari. The latter asked him to meet him near Amiraj party plot at Kargil crossroads.
Thakkar went to the place. As soon as they started talking, Rabari asked him to pay up the remaining money from a property deal. When Thakkar said he had already cleared the dues, Rabari was enraged, He allegedly started abusing Thakkar. He said the latter owed him interest amount and demanded that he pay up the money immediately. Rabari then started beating him.
Thakkar managed to call the police control room and later lodged a complaint at Sola police station. Investigation is currently underway
