Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Extensive preparations are underway in Indore division for wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP), which will start on March 15. A total of 61,642 farmers in the division have registered themselves to sell their wheat at support price. Wheat will be purchased from farmers at Rs 2,600 per quintal, including bonus.
As many as 307 centres have been set up for the purpose. Meanwhile, divisional commissioner Deepak Singh has directed collectors of all districts in the division to verify all the farmers registered and to ensure necessary arrangements at the procurement centres.
Singh also directed that extensive publicity should be done regarding the procurement work and the support price. The physical verification of the area sown by registered farmers should be completed immediately and the verification process should be completed on the e-procurement portal in the login of SDM and tehsildar within the time limit.
To start wheat procurement from March 15, determination of procurement centres, mapping of warehouses, selection of warehouse level centres, necessary facilities and arrangements at the centres like shade, tents, tables, chairs, water, fans, sieves, sewing machines, weighers, thread, colour, porters, weighmen, computer operators, hardware, etc should be made on time, Singh added.
