Virat Kohli on his bond with Rohit Sharma

Ahead of the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, Kohli spoke about his equation with Rohit Sharma, and how they’ve bonded over the years and created some wonderful memories.

Speaking on RCB channel he said, “Playing alongside someone for such a long time naturally leads to a strong bond, especially when you share so much of your understanding of the game. In the early years, we were constantly learning from each other and growing in our careers simultaneously. We often exchanged ideas, asked questions, and discussed various aspects of the game. Over time, we also worked closely together in leadership roles, where we regularly discussed strategies and ideas.”

He added,” More often than not, we found ourselves on the same page regarding the best approach to a particular situation or match. The trust we’ve built over the years is invaluable, knowing that we can rely on each other to get the job done for the team. Reflecting on our long careers, we are both grateful and proud of the journey we’ve shared. It wasn’t always certain that we would play for India for 15 years, but the consistency and memories we’ve built together have been incredibly fulfilling. It’s been a privilege to share these moments and continue to do so.”
