Amdavadis are ready for the midnight celebrations of Janmastami. After about 18 months of pandemic, the festive mood has been back with Janmastami.
Last year, due to the pandemic, Amdavadis could not install their traditional Janmashtami tableau that they have diligently put together for over two decades. While Covid prevails, they now know the safety protocols,. Many places at Ahmedabad have made an elaborate diorama for devotees to pray for a quick end to the pandemic.
Many Amdavadis lwill celebrate Janmashtami —coinciding with Monday which is considered holy — by fasting and creating scenes from Lord Krishna’s life. Many temples usually had celebrations at midnight. For the festival night, curfew timings have been relaxed as devotees will like to visit the major temples.
The chants of ‘Nand gher aanand bhayo, jai Kanaiyalal ki’ will reverberate in temples and homes.
